Turn back

A skinny young mouse poked his head in.
“Whatever you’re selling. I’ll take the lot.  I’m always hungry. I’ll pop in and pay tomorrow, OK?”

Then he spotted the strawberries, “Haah, no I won’t, it’s strawberries! You had me fooled.”

He ran off laughing.

Fred and Daisy sighed and stepped outside for a breath of air.

“Let’s bring the basket outside,” said Fred. “Come on Daisy, pick up a strawberry and nibble it as though you’re enjoying it.”

“Oh, dear,” said Daisy, “I’d rather hide. Everyone’s laughing at us. Nobody wants strawberries. The fields are full of them.”

“Give it time,” said Fred, “Somebody might.”

“I’ll throw them out,” said Daisy. “It was my silly idea.

“No,” said Fred. "Give it time."
