“It’s a deal! Thank you sir!” Molo and Jim shook the General’s paw.

“I like the General,” said Molo, when he and Jim were outside. “He is a smart operator. We could learn something working with him.”

“This is more fun than sweeping the yard,” said Jim, leaping down the street.

“We’ll go to Mrs. Daisy for our first strawberries,” said Molo. “She might tell us where to borrow a wheelbarrow.”

Daisy was no longer sitting outside her mousehole. Her chair and sunshade were gone. Her sign board had been taken down.

“What’s happened?” wondered Jim. He knocked on Daisy’s door.
